Microsoft came to us with a big challenge: Introduce the new Microsoft System Center to developers, get them to download the trial and explore its products.
Our idea was to create a game of corporate espionage out of the experience called Project Lockdown. The premise was that you the developer of a corporate government agency had to protect your company from a gang of sabateurs and spies trying to steal the secrets of your corporation.
The game consisted of 8 levels for each product within System Center. And each level was designed with its own story line, set of challenges and rewards.
The game was designed to be a social, allowing players to connect with one another to solve levels, showing the total number of points for each player in a leader board and the prizes that were still unclaimed.
A fun, engaging and social gaming experience that dramatized the features of Microsoft System Center and gave developers more than a typical product trial.
